Typical Code Violations

The members of the HCA have asked that we include information about what constitutes a Code Violation, what types there are and who to contact when those suspected violations occur.

TYPICAL HOUSING CODE - (Owner) VIOLATIONS
Dwelling yard and exterior areas are unsanitary, standing water and trash.
High Grass and weeds over 6"
Exterior Dwelling not structurally sound
Defective or unsafe roofs, windows, frames, steps, porches, doors, chimneys, doors or foundations.
Defective exterior paint, crumbling walls, windows, doors or foundations.
Rodent/insect infestation
 
Typical Livability Code - (Rental) VIOLATIONS
Unsanitary Conditions of common areas, structures, and premises.
High Grass and weeds over 6"
Improper disposal of Bulk items such as furniture, kitchen stoves, TV's, etc.
No trash or garbage containers or trash cans without lids or rodent proof or watertight covers.
Defective roofs, windows, frames, stairs, doors, porches or handrails.
Defective exterior paint, crumbling walls or foundations, standing water.
Rodent/insect infestation.

Property must be a major hazard/blight on the community before property owner will be cited.
