Presidents Message

On Behalf of the Hawthorne Civic Association I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as a resident of or as a visitor to our community.

Hawthorne is a family oriented, water accessible community which is growing and changing constantly through the efforts of our residents and association members. Hawthorne is also a part of the Middle River Renaissance with many plans for community improvement and renovation underway.

We invite you to enjoy our community playgrounds and waterfront piers located in the Hawthorne, Kingston, and Dark Head Parks, as well as participate in the many programs and activities held by the Hawthorne Elementary School, the Hawthorne PTA and the Hawthorne Civic Association.

It is our hope that you enjoy the many benefits of our community and feel free to contact us with any concerns, questions, or suggestions.

We invite you to attend our next civic association meeting held on the First Tuesday of each month at 7PM in the Hawthorne Elementary School. The Civic Association Newsletter is also delivered to your door before each meeting.

Once again, let me take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Hawthorne, "A Great Place To Live".

The Hawthorne Civic Association Goal

The Goal of Hawthorne Civic Association is to provide a safe, family oriented community, integrating the best of the past history of the Middle River area with the vast possibilities of the future.

Hawthorne, A Waterfront Community

Hawthorne is a waterfront community and is made up of over 105 waterfront homes, 1500 colonial town homes, an apartment complex, and is the only community in Baltimore County with three waterfront parks, two of them directly on Middle River.  The waterfront areas of Dark Head, Kingston Park, Waters Watch and Whitethorn are directly on the waterfront while various town homes have water views and direct waterfront park access.  Attend our monthly HCA meeting and begin to explore Hawthorne.

The Hawthorne Park Pathway

Hawthorne's two community parks provide natural waterfront areas designed for family recreation, stimulating new ownership and economic growth.

The Hawthorne Pathway, a 2.5 mile relaxing experience designed for bicyclists, joggers and walkers, navigates around the community, providing a natural environment complete with fishing and boating on Middle River.

The pathway provides residents from the community walking access to Hawthorne Elementary School, local shops, restaurants and other local destinations.

The pathway also provides two Playgrounds with play gyms. Both parks provide an educational  Experience to witness the ecological  process and the wildlife of the  Middle River watershed.
